The possible consequences of having a Blog

Written By: Pascal Alma on December 11, 2007 One Comment

This time just a post that doesn’t have any technical content. This time I just want you to show the impact that a blog can have.
When I started this blog, about one year ago, I just did it as a ‘best practice’ catalog for myself. I had experienced too often a situation in which I was sure I had solved the problem before but didn’t remember how I did it. So that’s why I started this blog: just to make sure that if I had solved a problem, I could ’secure’ this info somewhere so I could read it back if I needed to. And if it helps others fixing their problem, then that’s just a nice side effect.
But one result I certainly did NOT expect was this mail: Whether I were able to help an Oracle development team to make the switch to Oracle’s ADF. And the best part: the team is located at Mauritius! So after a short period in which I had to make a lot of arrangements I am now writing this post on a tropical island in the Indian Ocean, where it is about 25 degrees Celsius in December !!!
So if you ever are in doubt about what the added value may be of your blog, remind this story and just keep the faith ;-)
